UKMACS Interview Study
In 2018 we interviewed 66 applicants to medical school and first year medical students. They were from all different social backgrounds, and from all around the UK. **Thank you to all the applicants and medical students who took part!**
We wanted to find out how applicants’ social background affects which medical schools they apply to. We also wanted to find out which information applicants from different backgrounds used in making their choices, and whether applicants’ future career aspirations affect their choice of medical schools to apply to.
Eliot Rees presented this poster “Does applicant speciality ambition influence medical school choice?” at the British Journal for General Practice Research Conference 2019 :
Eliot Rees will be presenting “Medical school choice among applicants from different social backgrounds: A national qualitative interview study in the United Kingdom” at the ASME Annual Scientific Meeting in Glasgow July 2019.
